At F[r], we LOVE Halloween. Of all of the things that make this Fall holiday so much fun, witches, ghosts, pumpkins, spider webs and hayrides,TREATS are by far the most celebrated. At every turn during the month of October, we are faced with sweets that trick us into over-treating.

{Healthy Pumpkin Party!} We focused the kids' attention on fun games and crafts rather than candy. Pumpkin bowling was a favorite, but the options are endless!

We won't argue that part of the fun of this holiday is partaking in a little candy consumption, but BEWARE! Sugar is 8 times more addictive than cocaine. Before you run screaming, try out one of our favorite F[r] food rules: [Re.create] the craving-make your treats yourself. Check out these two healthy snacks Marissa recently prepared for a fall-themed party at her house. Grain-free, gluten-free, and sweetened lightly with honey, Danielle Walker's muffin recipe from her book Against All Grain will satisfy your sweet tooth, while also providing a sneaky source of healthy veggies.

And there is nothing evil about these pumpkin-shaped deviled eggs. Packed with protein and healthy fats, they will keep the hangry belly monsters happy and, MOST importantly, your [re.defined] physique in F[r]ighfully fabulous shape ;)

Of course the best defense is a great offense. Add more workouts this month to help combat the extra candy calories. We have over 40 classes each week at F[r] so NO EXCUSES. And don't forget our Brave Maeve "Boo" Camp Sunday, October 18th for kids and adults. 10:30 kids 3-12 yrs are invited to tackle F[r]'s spook-tacular fitness obstacle course and at 11:30 we have plenty of Fall-themed tricks in store for adults.
